Who we are
A small team with big‑event experience.
Hold That Shot was set up in 2012 by Alex Doherty, a camera operator who started in television in 2001 and has spent 25 years filming live broadcasts. His camera work includes host broadcast coverage of two Olympic Games (Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024), the 2018 World Cup, Euro 2016 and 2020 and the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, and regular live Steadicam for Sky Sports, the BBC, ITV and DAZN, from Premier League football to music, premieres and state occasions.
Hold That Shot takes that experience and points it at businesses. Social content for the café down the road, a brand film for an engineering firm, a live stream for a conference, a walkthrough for an estate agent. The habits are the same: be prepared, get it right first time, and make people look good.
Alex leads every job, with a small team of trusted camera operators and editors brought in when a job needs more hands. You deal directly with the people who film your job.
We also build where video lives. We built and run The Short Film Show's streaming platform, with its own apps and a 24/7 channel, and Datestone is our own platform for landlords. So when we say we get your video onto every screen, we mean it.
